2024

NexUs Youth Leadership Camp

The first ever NexUs Youth Leadership Camp was a key milestone in shaping future leaders, reflecting our commitment to youth and education. Through our collaboration with The One Core, Positive Workplaces, and support from the Ladies of Charity – Christ the King, participants were equipped with essential mindsets and skills, bridging the gap between global needs and future talents.

Culture Invigoration Consultant Certification©

MgtStrat successfully concluded the Culture Invigoration Consultant Certification© program, which ran from July 15 to September 19 this year. Our Culture Consultants explored and channeled the transformative power of our patented Culture Invigoration Model© and learned how to bring cultures to life within their clients’ organizations.

DREAM & DARE©

MgtStrat launched its first card game, DREAM & DARE, created by Cristina Alafriz. It invites players to generate stories and conversations toward self-discovery and to spark deeper human connections.

Culture Invigoration Model©

The CIM identifies the core pillars of what makes powerful cultures and deploys measures, processes, and tools to connect these with your most important organizational outcomes. The framework was developed by eight of MgtStrat’s partners and senior consultants Cristina Alafriz, Elcee Asuncion Villa, Elmo Alforque, Jolina Kahn, Miggy Zaballero, TJ Parpan, and Yeye Agorilla.

WeCanvas©

Teams and individuals are at the core of every organization. For this reason, building a robust team culture is vital for success. WeCanvas, inspired by 'we-intentions', makes team culture visible. It empowers teams to voice their collective aspirations. WeCanvas was created by MgtStrat Partner, Miggy Zaballero.

To celebrate over three decades in the industry, we launched The MgtStrat Culture Book: Stories of Transformation and Performance, a book that showcases how a strong corporate culture can power the performance of individuals, teams, and organizations.

Stronger together

Management Strategies partnered with KahnDo to provide clients with a breadth and depth of expertise and services that help enhance organizational culture and prepare today's workforce to efficiently deal with the uncertainties of tomorrow.

Our own MALC

MgtStrat Partner, Cristina Alafriz, becomes one of the few WIAL Master Action Learning Coaches in the world. In this capacity, Tina is considered a thought leader in the Action Learning Community and is now able to certify other Coaches.

40 under 40 HR Leaders

Our very own Miggy Zaballero, Partner and Portfolio Head, was named one of the 40 Under 40 Award for Asia HR Leaders! This recognition highlights his impact on HR and dedication to transforming workplaces, embodying the core values that drive Management Strategies forward.

2021

Global alliances

5th Gawad Maestro Awards win

In recognition of the powerful results we have created for our many clients throughout the years, Management Strategies was named the Outsourced Learning & Development Organization of the Year at the Philippine Society for Talent Development’s 5th GAWAD MAESTRO Awards.

Elcee Asuncion Villa recognized as Global Pinoy Awardee

MgtStrat's Managing Partner, Elcee Asuncion Villa, was recognized as one of three GLOBAL PINOY AWARDEES by The Rotary Club Pasay EDSA on November 13, 2021. The award recognizes her invaluable contribution in showcasing the enduring Filipino Spirit and promoting international goodwill and service on a global stage through her profession and advocacy.

2020

The pandemic pivot

As a response to the global pandemic, Management Strategies launched MGTSTRAT-U, a series of online learning and development programs, offering a wide variety of topics that are relevant and important to the people in our workforce. Today, MGTSTRAT-U delivers both virtual and face-to-face workshops.

2018

Team Journeys opens

Powered by Management Strategies, Team Journeys was established to elevate group development and create team-building experiences, helping organizations reach the next level and navigate the road to success.

2015

WIAL Philippines opens

MgtStrat co-founded WIAL Philippines, a partner of the World Institute of Action Learning based in the USA. Action Learning develops creativity, flexibility and successful strategies to pressing or complex problems

2004

Branded Customer Service

Management Strategies launched Dr. Janelle Barlow’s new consulting framework in Malaysia, Manila and Hong Kong. Based on her then new book, Branded Customer Service: The New Competitive Edge, the consulting approach presents a comprehensive pathway that links the dynamics of the customer experience with the promise of your brand. MgtStrat would eventually use the pathway as the basis for our Culture Branding approach and consulting. Dr. Barlow has been working with MgtStrat since 1985 and continues to be one of our global partners

2000

Kuala Lumpur Office Opening

Management Strategies Asia opened in Kuala Lumpur, serving clients in Singapore and Malaysia. This expansion was followed by the closure of our Hong Kong office six years later, with all operations smoothly transitioning to Management Strategies Asia.

1998

Leaps & Bounds

Leaps & Bounds was created to provide a safe and challenging environment for the youth to help them harness their hidden potentials as leaders by discovering their own identity, being a team player, and developing other youth leaders in their community.

1997

Ownership change

Elcee Asuncion Villa took ownership of the business she had founded and nurtured in Hong Kong for 13 years and Manila for 5 years, marking another pivotal moment of transition and continued growth.

Touching grass

On the same year, with Cristina Alafriz at its helm, Management Strategies launched our Outdoor Experiential service with assistance from Randi Dubois and Pro-Action Associates from the US.

1992

Manila office opening

After establishing a thriving presence in Hong Kong for eight years and expanding our reach to other parts of Asia including the Philippines, we solidified our reputation as specialists in culture transformation. Building on this success, Management Strategies extended our impact by opening a branch office in Manila, marking a new chapter in our journey.

1984

Our beginnings

Management Strategies was founded in Hong Kong as the Hong Kong partner for a large international learning and development company. Previously called Time Manager Hong Kong, then TMI Hong Kong, our services revolved around culture transformation in three areas – managing through results, engendering customer loyalty and elevating personal quality. Elcee Asuncion Villa was sent to Hong Kong to establish this business.
