Our Story

The beginning

Management Strategies is the story of two sisters who shared a vision of transforming organizational cultures through their people. In 1984, Elcee established the company in Hong Kong, and later opened an office in Manila. Tina then spearheaded the development of outdoor experiential learning, putting the company on the map.

Over the years, Management Strategies has evolved from a company primarily known for outdoor experiential programs to a global consulting firm specializing in culture building and organizational transformation.

Today, with over 80 passionate consultants and coaches worldwide, the company continues to focus on bringing out the best in people and activating their purpose and strengths.

Behind the name

The name Management Strategies emerged through the combination of purpose and the psychology of branding.

After Elcee launched TMI Hong Kong, she ventured into a new market, guided by her experience and the track record of the company. With her colleagues, she conceptualized a brand that can easily be recalled yet has depths to its name, resonating with the target market and conveying who they are and what they do. They contemplated how to inspire people, impact minds, and emphasize the importance of a strong culture for business success.

Aiming for mindset shift, behavior change, and, ultimately, culture transformation, Management Strategies was born.

Management Strategies co-founded WIAL Philippines in 2015, a partner of the World Institute of Action Learning based in the USA. Action Learning is a new way of thinking and doing business that involves a small group working on real problems, taking action, while learning as individuals, teams, and organizations. It develops creativity, flexibility and successful strategies to pressing or complex problems. MgtStrat Partner Cristina Alafriz is one of the few Master Action Learning Coaches in the world.
